I hate to say this about the poor baby (rest his soul), but the man was HAWT. I mean you have to admit it. Just look at him! Ssssseeeexxxxxxyyyyyy. Yet he was taken away from the world before he could reach his prime. Although that hasn't stopped the rumors, legends, and secrets surrounding the shy, farm-boy turned brooding rebel/sex god. To this day, people claim everything from his car being as cursed as the damned Hope Diamond, to him being a very promiscuous little boy in a different department. Now, there actually is a good amount of evidence out there to support he was either gay or bisexual (either way, he slept with guys), but whether you believe it or not is up to you. Although, my favorite story, is the legend of the Bet of Giant. No, this wasn't some enormous gambler's bet, it was a contest. As the story goes, during the filming of Giant, his last movie, his costars, Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hudson (who would later actually come out as gay before dyeing of AIDS) hatched an evil contest. They made a bet as to who could seduce and bed James before the movie ended. Not much else of the story is known, but after that, apparently two weeks in, James came in one day with a sudden limp and Elizabeth Taylor made a withdrawal of 100,000 dollars from the bank. Rock Hudson must've been one good flirter to get him to do the horizontal tango with him so quickly. Now, all of this is stuff of legend, but I like to believe it. Just like the legend of the abandoned, town-sized, Egyptian set in the middle of the Mojave Desert from a 1920's movie or the tragic story of Peg Entwhistle who was the first person to commit suicide by jumping off the Hollywood sign in the 1930's, her suicide and one movie credit being the only solid things known about her. Well, I guess we'll never know, just like we'll never know if Brian Epstein really did have an affair with John Lennon (Google that shit right now!!!!) or if it was really Paul McCartney who the affair was with.
